Roosevelt Island Aerial Tram
There are many ways to see the breathtaking views of New York City, and many visitors to the city make this their number one priority when it comes to their itinerary. It’s amazing the lengths that people will go to to get the best possible view during their visit to New York. You can see the city from the top of a skyscraper, from the middle of the Hudson River, from a ferry or kayak, or from the walking path of a bridge. You can even view New York from above, but helicopter rides can be expensive. However, there’s another, more affordable option that allows you to see this amazing cityscape from high up in the air. We’re talking about the Roosevelt Island Tramway. One of the only commuter tramways in the United States, the tram makes over 100 trips a day between Manhattan and Roosevelt Island. The tram carries over 100 commuters at once, and soars along the East River at 200 feet in the air, offering ridings arial views, including great views of the East Side of Midtown Manhattan. The tram runs at least every 15 minutes from 6 AM to 2 AM (3:30 AM on weekends.) Best of all, you can take this ride for the cost of a Metro Card swipe!
