The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space museum is one of the most awesome Museums in New York, and probably in the entire world, if you ask a lot of people. The Museum boasts three amazing centers. The main museum is housed aboard an actual gigantic floating aircraft carrier, a national historic landmark. The Space Shuttle Pavilion is the actual prototype of the Enterprise space shuttle, a piece of American history. Finally, the Submarine Growler is a museum that shows the inside of a submarine and missile command center. The Museum is also home to the British Airways Concorde, the fastest plane to ever cross the atlantic ocean.Children will be guaranteed to love this museum, but many of the tours are geared towards a more mature audience, so you should check the age suggestions online before committing to a tour. The museum offers a great variety of guided tours aimed at aspects of the three histories: Sea, Air and Space. Learn about aviation, or space travel, you’ll be sure to want to return again to learn more. Tickets are generally $20 for adults, and the museum is located at Pier 86 W 46th St and 14th Avenue in Midtown.
