Madison Square Park – Madison Avenue
Madison Square Park, named for president James Madison, is located at the intersection of 5th avenue and Broadway at 23rd Street. Named for the old location of Madison Square Garden, the park is still surrounded by famous buildings including the Flatiron Building, the Met Life Tower and One Madison Park. The park is open year round, and includes a large grass area, dog run, colorful playgrounds and free Wi-Fi. The park has a number of permanent historic sculptures, as well as hosting temporary art. There are also concerts in the summer and annual concern series’ including the Mad. Sq. Kids concerts. In terms of commerce, the park hosts pop-up markets, and there is a Shake Shack burger stand literally in the park, serving up delicious burgers, hotdogs and shakes to be enjoyed at the park’s outdoor tables.
