Chinatown

New York City is known as a melting pot because of the colorful and varied mix of cultures and ethnicities and grace the city and lend flavor to the local food, art, shopping, and culture. This small neighborhood in Downtown Manhattan is the largest enclave of Chinese people and culture in the United States, as well as one of the oldest. Chinatown is also a great shopping destination, known for its fresh meat, produce and seafood at great prices, as well as street after street of vendors selling Chinese knickknacks, inexpensive trend items and most famously: knock off designer handbags! Many visitors to New York make it a point to visit Chinatown for no other reason than hunting for high quality fake labels, which are sold behind secret doors and handed to the customer in unmarked black shopping bags. Chinatown feels like a constant street fair, a great place to pick up gifts and souvenirs, get cheap and delicious ethnic food or just explore a colorful neighborhood.
