Bronx Zoo

For anyone who is interested in animals and enjoys the thrill of seeing wild animals from all over the world, up close and personal- the Bronx Zoo is a must-see ! Located uptown in the Bronx, the zoo is actually contained within Bronx Park, and it is the single largest urban zoo in North America. The Bronx Zoo is home to over 6,000 animals from over 600 species’ from all over the world. The zoo itself is huge, with walkways winding through hundreds of acres of park land and natural habitats. You can walk through the rainforest and get sprinkled with warm dew while you watch all different species of monkeys play in the trees, or gaze at the majestic Gorillas in the Congo Gorilla Forest. Other exhibits include Tiger Mountain, World of Birds, the Sea Lion Pool, Big Bears, Baboon Reserve and much, much more! All these exhibits are free with entry to the zoo, and for extra the zoo offers things like the 4D Dinosaur Experience or an indoor tropical jungle. During the Warm seasons, the zoo is open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM and costs around $20 for adults and $13 for children. Best of all, entry is free for everyone on Wednesdays! Extra exhibits generally cost $5.
